Shahriar Heydari told IRNA on Saturday that the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi applied its diplomatic capacity to encourage other countries around the world to promote a ceasefire in Gaza.
According to the legislator, the Iranian president also made all-out efforts in this respect, when it came to his speeches at the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the BRICS group, as well as writing letters to his counterparts throughout the globe.
The deputy head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament said that Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian visited different countries and negotiated with their authorities.
The measures bore fruit and we witnessed the ceasefire in Gaza, he further noted.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has always provided the oppressed people of Palestine with political and moral support in various arenas, and made all-out efforts in this respect, the MP said, adding that Tehran has never put aside its stance on the issue of Palestine even for a moment.
